Location

The Samui Mermaid is situated on Baan Bang Rak (Big Buddha Bay) located on the north eastern coast of Koh Samui. It  is just 10 minutes' drive away from Samui International Airport and a 15 minutes drive away from the nightlife of Chaweng, or in the other direction, the quaint fisherman's village of Bophut.

The beach is very quiet and clean, with soft golden sand. The hotel is situated between Bangrak Pier and Big Buddha pier (Haad Rin Pier) where both of them go to different beaches in Koh Phangan.

Bangrak pier is managed by Seatran Discovery (same company managing the ferry in Nathon pier).  This boat is headed to Thongsala pier in Koh Phangan  (30 minutes) and next  stop is Koh Tao (2 hours). The ticket is 300 THB/person for Koh Phangan and 600 THB/person for Koh Phangan. You can reserve ticket at the hotel reception when you check-in.

Big Buddha pier (Haad Rin Pier) will go to Hadd Rin where the famous monthly Full Moon Party is held every full moon. This company organizes with slow boat which will take longer time to Koh Phangan (50 minutes) but with lower price (200 THB/person). Guests can buy ticket at the pier.

There are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the resort offering all kinds of dishes, from Thai to Turkish and French to Finnish! There are also countless local bars if you need to stop to take a rest during a leisurely stroll along the beach.

The nearby temple, Wat Phra Yai, features the 12-metre Big Buddha monument. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the temple grounds, and it acts as an important place of worship, especially on special days such as the Loy Krathong festival when Thai people launch thousands of beautifully-decorated little floats on the sea. Please remember to dress politely when visiting this or other temples - avoid beachwear or revealing costumes.
